COURSE BUFFET

Course Buffet (CB) is a form of course offering or part of a course from an academic programme offered at the Diploma, Executive Diploma, Bachelor and Master levels. The main objective of offering this Course Buffet programme is to provide opportunities and options to the public, especially working adults to improve their skills and knowledge (upskilling) in specific fields according to their needs through participation in academic courses offered by UM.

Participants will attend lecture sessions for the course they have registered with other UM students, either physical lectures on campus or online through Remote Learning (RL) or Open & Distance Learning (ODL) mode.

Participation :

Open to all Malaysian citizens and International participants.

Course Categories :

There are 3 categories of Course Buffets offered as follows:

• Group of Courses
  • Consists of several courses offered in the same program as a form of certification of either a Professional Certificate or a Competency.

• Stand-alone Course
  • Participants must follow the entire course with the following options:

• Course Components (Selected Topics)
  • Participants may choose to follow only certain topics offered for a course. Participants will be given a Certificate of Attendance for each course session they have attended.

Advantages of Course Buffet : 

• Participants have the opportunity to earn credit for the completion of a course that can be accumulated for credit transfer later when participants apply to register for relevant academic programs at any IPT.
• No requirement to meet the admission/entry requirements of the academic programme to pursue a course in the Course Buffet.
• Opportunity to study on campus with other fellow students.
• Certification from the No.1 university in Malaysia
• Learning and lecture sessions conducted by experienced Professors/Lecturers with extensive knowledge in the field of study.
• Reasonable fees with a structured and continuous period of study throughout the semester.
